:)HAPPY LORD'S DAY TO ALL ON FEBRUARY 27TH.

This evening services was our end of the month Music Night.
The theme of the service was on PSALMS 32: THE LORD IS OUR HIDING PLACE.

The hymns that were song this evening:
There's a New Song in My Heart
At Calvary
Grace Greater than all our SIns
Wonderful Grace of Jesus
My Jesus I Love Thee
Amazing Grace

There were a couple of special music.

The passage of Psalms 32 was referred to in between each of the hymns. And Pastor B told stories for illusations.

Psalms 32: Vs. 1-5
 Vs 1:
Bless is he whose transgressions are forgiven, Whose sins are covered.

God lifts our transgressions.
God covers our Sins.

Vs: 2:
Blessed is the man who sin the Lord does not count against Him, An in whose spirit is no deceit.

God annihilates our inquities.

Psalms 32: 5-11

Vs. 6-7:
Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; Surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach Him. You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance  SELAH

Sins are forgiven.

vs. 8-10
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
Do not be like the horse of the mule which have no understanding, But must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you. Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him.

Sinners are Counselled.

Pastor B. Also read some quotes from
John Piper, Donald Tippet, Martyn Lloyd-Jones.

 :)March 24:
The last four sunday evening services has been on Leavens:
Leavens of the Pharisee
Leavens of the Sadducees
Leavens of Impurity
Leavens of Legalism
.............................................................................

Sunday Evening Services: March 20th

                                    TITLE: LEAVEN OF LEGALISM

                                      Passage: Galatians 5:1-6

Wait in Faith: We will never be disappointed.

Galatians 5:7-12

Review from last week: Leaven of Impurity. Church handled sin with sin, Paul told the church to kick the sinner out of fellowship, to hand him over to Satan. It seemed harsh but it was done out of love.  Because that person was restored to fellowship.

Leaven of legalism can cause us to forget what is important.
One strike rule, one mistake, can cause us to be disqualified in our race to eternity.

We Do our Best to encourage others , by encourage others  helps us to do our Best.

Gal. 5: 7-8
Legalism - mixed of faith and works. Legalism there is a have to system of rules that have to be obey.  It focus' on the external.
Jews rules were into everything , the church was being influenced by those rules.

V 1 & 2: There is a battle, External rules  the law and the Saving Grace of Christ.
Paul identifies as leaven creeping into the church, comes in very suttle.
V10: Coming in by an individual , takes just one person deciding that grace is not enough.
Paul was dealing with it because it was affecting the church.

5:1: Issue slavery vs freedoms
Slavery is the law
Freedom is in Christ.
Issue we need to deal with. We must stand firm against it. No compromises.
V2: Issue of the Mind
Who is our master.  Law or Christ & salvation by faith.

It is the battle of the mind.

Issue of mind in regards to legalism.
Sin-hind sight, got comfortable in our mind, follow through with our actions.

Gal 5:2//Eph 4:17
Paul's words: Mark my word, is from the Lord, you can count on it.

What is at stake? Christ becomes of no value to you if you let the battle of legalism get a hold of you.                            We will lose something of REAL VALUE.
We will be separated from His Grace.
Gal 5:4: leaven is process that begins slowly.
It mixes law and grace which is a slow slide downwards.
                                        Distrust > Unbelief>Abandoning Christ.

Why should we be tempted?
People makes rules , so we don't need to make decision , Temptation to take the easy road.
Rules: path of the least resistent , we will follow that insteady of putting our trust in God.
Faith and love are things that will stretches us beyond our comfort zone.
Gal 5:5: It is the path of  true life.
Gal 5:6: Faith and love are difficult , but it is only thing that counts.
Take faith and love away, hope falls away.
                                                           FAITH<>HOPE<>LOVE
Faith , hope and love are not affected by external laws.
Gal 5:7: All are in a race . The goal is to help one another, through faith and love. With all doing our best. Not by forcing people to live under a set of Rules.

GOD SET US FREE AND WE ARE FREE INDEED.

We must be aware of leavens in our lives, we must fight against them, stand firm against them.

STUDY THE BIBLE BECAUSE YOU LOVE HIM[JESUS]
MEMORIZE SCRIPTURES BECAUSE YOU LOVE HIM[JESUS]
                             PRAY BECAUSE YOU LOVE HIM[JESUS]

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE: MARCH 25, 2005

NO NEUTRAL GROUND
PASSAGE: Mark 5:16-39

PEOPLE AROUND THE CROSS
V16: Soldiers, a whole company of soldiers…represents the whole world
They were hardened men….People who hung on cross was a message to those who would disobey the Romans.  They represent the world today that make fun of the message of Jesus.
Jesus took the abuse because that is why Jesus came. Jesus died for all. Jesus gave the opportunity to bow before him in TRUE WORSHIP.
There are two ways we can treat the cross….true worship or mocking.

V18: every heart has a question. Who rules our hearts.
World says we will rule ourselves and our own hearts.
There is No Neutral Ground…with Jesus…we either place a crown of gold on his head or a crown of thorns.

V19: Staff…guiding rod…they took the thing that Jesus wanted to use to guide them into a new life…but they used it to beat him over the head.
Who guides you in life today.
World says …we guide ourselves.
No neutral ground in our submission to Jesus.

V20: Who received your worship.
World says we worship ourselves. People who does that are in mocking worship.
Come to the cross , there is no middle ground. Either worship Jesus or you mock him.

V22-32: People gives a nod of interest at the cross.
-soldiers at foot of the cross were more interest in gambling.
World are looking at the Wealth. People spirit lives are choked by pleasure. Looking after themselves.
No Neutral Ground, you cant serve two masters.

V29: Casual observers…not too involved, it was impossible not to pass the cross and not become involved.
Represents the world  that is passing by and pursuing their own schedules and desires. They can console themselves that they are just too busy.
They do not understand what Jesus is all about or what he is doing.
Jesus dies to be our central figure in our lives , to  make us whole new creatures.
Christ requires it all. Not what is left over from our lives.
Examine your schedule, make Jesus the center.

V31: Leaders came with misunderstanding, that is growing in the church.
People in the church are delegating Jesus to some  other Messiah.  Jesus is being mixed up to a common level to others who came before hime.
Are we shopping for another Messiah.  There is only one way to be saved. The Lord Jesus Christ.

V27: Criminals: one to say I've tried Jesus out in a predictament, then says Jesus failed me , then go looking elsewhere to find help. Jesus is the only one who can bring peace and hope. Look at the cross..Jesus is the only one, in Jesus time and way…..BUT IT WILL BE.
No Neutral Ground at the foot of the cross.

SIMON: was a family man. One of his sons became a church leader. He was a devote man.  Traveled to Jerusalem to worship during the Passover. He stayed out of the city because of the overcrowding. He was on his way into the city to do his religious duties.  He finds himself carrying Jesus's cross.
God isnt satisfied with our religious niceness. God is going to ask us to carrying the cross. To reflame the passion for the cross to physical grab you, to give our attention to Him.
Cross made a demand on Simon, Lord is making a demand on us.
Cross was a divine appointment to Simon. We have a divine appointment .
God is speaking to us , so the cross can change us.

MAY 1ST: HAPPY LORD'S DAY TO EVERYONE:

THIS HYMN WAS SUNG DURING AFTER THE COMMUNION SERVICE TODAY.

SOMETHING FOR THEE
Author: Sylvanus D. Phillips
           Robert  Lowry

Verse 1:

Saving, Thy dying love
Thou gavest me.
Nor should I aught withhold
Dear Lord, from Thee
In love my soul would bow,
My heart fulfill its vow,
Some offering bring Thee now
SOMETHING FOR THEE

Verse 2:

At the blest mercy seat
Pleading for me
My feble faith looks up
Jesus, to Thee
Help me the cross to bear
Thy wondrous love declare
Some song to raise
or prayer
SOMETHING FOR THEE

Verse 3:
Give me a faithful heart,
Likeness to Thee
That each departing day
Henceforth may see
Some work of love begun
Some deed of kindness done
Some wandrer and won
SOMETHING FOR THEE

Verse 4:
All that I am and have
Thy gifts so free
In joy, in grief, thro'life
Dear Lord, for Thee!
And when Thy face I see
My ransomed soul shall be
Through all eternity
SOMETHING FOR THEE

May 7th:

This morning I went to breakfast at the church for 8:30 am.
It was the last of the men's breakfast get together for the summer, and this Saturday was a Mixed Breakfast.

The guest speaker was David Taylor: a retired correctional officer and pastor, resides in Osgood, Ontario.

He is a very visual speaker, as he tells of his sermons, his whole body become animated, and you can almost see the characters who is giving lesson about, come to life in front of you.
I like these kind of speakers.

His message was in MARK 5... CHARACTERS & FAITH OF JARIUS AND THE SICK WOMAN.

The main point of his lesson was:

FAITH REQUIRES:
ACTION
ASKING
OVERCOMING
God is present.... answers

Each character was in desperate need, when they sought out Jesus.
They were in desperation when the asked,[woman asked by touching Jesus}
Both overcome , Jarius believing even though his daughter was dead, and the woman coming forward to acknowledge Jesus, when he sought her out.

They overcame despite the comments of others, cultural displays.
These people were on both sides of the social standing of their society.

Also the challenge is not to give up, not give up on yourself, not to give up praying for others, not to give up on God.

When it comes for caring for others, in our paths, it is up to us to continually uphold them into God's presence, but leaving them with God, our job is only loving them unconditionally, and let God spirit do the work in their lives.

Wait until God does it in his time and way.

This message from this man, was very timely, and very specific for me.
How many times do I want to even play God in my  life, to run ahead, instead of waiting .
How many times when I pray for the unsaved family members in my life, do I stop praying because nothing is happening, how can I expect God's power to work, if I quit putting action, asking and overcoming my faith.

My two jobs are upholding them in prayer, and loving unconditional.
For my self, I am to act, ask and overcome
Act by seeking out
Ask by being specific
Overcome any obstacles , persistently going forward.

That the lesson I came away from this lesson. I will need to put these into practice.

Just sharing what was being taught and the lessons I came away, from the breakfast I attended today.

Hymn:

DOES JESUS CARE
By Frank E. Graeff
J.Lincoln Hall

Chorus:

O yes, He cares I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Saviour cares . He cares.

Verse 1:
Does Jesus care when my heart is pained.
Too deeply for mirth and song.
As the burdens press and the cares distress
And the way grows weary and long?

Verse 2:
Does Jesus care when my way is dark
With a name less dread and fear?
As the daylight fades into deep night shades
Does He care enough to be near?

Verse 3:
Does Jesus care when I've tried and failed
To resist some temptation strong;
When for my deep grief I find no relief,
though my tears flow all the night long?

Verse 4:
Does Jesus care when I've said goodby
To the dearest on earth to me
And my sad heart aches till its nearly breaks
Is it aught to Him? Does He see?

August 21st:

Sunday Evening Service:

Luke 14:7-11

It is about the taking the lowest seat, so the host of the party, may honour you by inviting you to a better place.

Lowest Seat is actually the Best Seat

It is the Best Seat because that is where the lessons and the experiences are learned.
It is when service to Lord, to what ever job is there to do. Nothing is too low to do.

The Best Seat (low seat) is  a seat nobody else is fighting over.
Everyone wants the top job, and everyone is fighting tooth and nail to get.

The Best Seat(low seat) is actually contrary to the expectation of the world.
Starting at the bottom. Getting your hands dirty, doing the job nobody wants to do.

The Best Seat (low seat) is where the Lord Jesus is the promoter, it is Christ that will take notice of your service, and with promote you as you follow the pathway of your spiritual journey.

The Best Seat (low seat) is the seat where Christ is sitting. Christ was our example to follow. Christ didnt take the place of honour, or demanding the best position.

>>>
One of the hymns that was song tonight was

MASTER THE TEMPEST IS RAGING
Author: Mary. A Baker
           Horatius R. Palmer
Arr by Fred Jacky

CHORUS:
THE WINDS AND THE WAVES SHALL OBEY MY WILL
PEACE   BE STILL!
WHETHER THE WRATH OF THE STORM TOSSED SEA,
OR DEMONS, OR MEN, OR WHATEVER IT BE,
NO WATER CAN SWALLOW THE SHIP WHERE LIES
THE MASTER OF OCEAN AND EARTH AND SKIES;
THEY ALL SHALL SWEETLY OBEY MY WILL;
PEACE BE STILL!
PEACE BE STILL!
THEY ALL SHALL SWEETLY OBEY MY WILL;
PEACE, PEACE BE STILL!

VERSE 1:
Master, the tempest is raging! The billows are tossing high!
The sky is over shadowed with blackness, No shelter or help is nigh;
Carest Thou not that we perish? How canst Thou lie asleep,
When each moment so madly is threatning A grave in the angry deep?

Verse 2:
Master, with anguish of spirit, I bow in my gief today;
The depths of my sad heart are troubles; O waken and save I pray!
Torrents of sin and of anguish, Sweep over my sinking soul!
And I perish! i perish, dear Master; O hasten and take control!

Verse 3:
Master, the terror is over, The elements sweetly rest;
Earth's sun in the calm lake is mirrored, And heaven's within my breast,
Linger, O blessed Redeemer, Leave me alone no more;
And with joy I shall make the blest harbour, And rest on the blissful shore.

Another thought-provoking post.
You can always tell the people with experience sitting in the lowest seat.
Here are a few of the things I have noticed about them.

They never boast about their service or accomplishments.
They never give you the impression that they are much more spiritual than you are.
They are quick to make things right when an offense is so much as perceived.
They remind me of the Lord Jesus...
