PRECIOUS IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD IS THE DEATH OF HIS SAINTS
Psalm 116:115

Please pray for Samuel, Dorcas and Dennis Mboko.
They are the surviving children of Josphat and Florence Mboko who recently went to be with the Lord.
Jospaht and Florence were involved in a head-on collision on August 23 in Kenya and Josphat died instantlly.
Florence remained in a coma for several days and recently also went to be with the Lord.
Pauline Mbuvi is in Kenya to assist the family.
PLease pray for strength and wisdom for her as she ministers to what are certain to very great needs at this time.
I have never met another brother in Christ who more wonderfully reflected the beauty of Christ than Mboko.
As a deacon in the Niarobi Pentecostal Churches, he influenced countless individuals for the gospel of Jesus Christ, and was a tremendous blessing and encouragement to the body of Christ in many places.

Verne, were the Mbokos involved with the Geftakys ministry? Or Pauline Mbuvi?

Verne, were the Mbokos involved with the Geftakys ministry? Or Pauline Mbuvi?

Hi Margaret:
Dr. Stephen Mbuvi was in "fellowship" (and I believe at one point in leadership) in Champaign after moving here from Omaha. He died tragically (brain hemorraging induced by wrongly administered blood thinnner after what doctors thought was a heart attack) about  eight years ago and I met and became very close friends with Mboko when he  came to the US to attend Steve's funeral.
Pauline Mbuvi left the Champaign gathering with her children after the scandal became widely known and for a time attended Champaign Alliance Church where I also attended.
The Mbokos  were never involved with George nor were any of the brethren from NPC.
Thankfully, those men are cut from much different spiritual cloth.
Anyone who knew Stephen Mbuvi knew he was a man of tremendous godliness and integrity.
At the time of his death, he had already made the decison to leave both the leadership and association with the Champaign group for matters of conscience and that of course is no surprise.
Every truly godly man or woman eventually parted company with Geftakys or became terribly compromised.
I believe George Geftakys ruined some truly gifted men.
Do you remember Eric and Joy Seward?
They left ( or were driven from) the Tuscola assembly many years before I came after standing up to George.
We now both attend Sratford Park Bible Chapel and are weekly prayer partners.
Someday I will have to work up the courage to ask about what happened when they left so long ago.
