It would be interesting to see who the top posters are and rank them by number of posts.  Can we see this?

: Re:Can we see some stats brian?
: golden November 05, 2003, 09:05:10 PM
For Example, from a quick check...I see that
1) Brent has 749 posts
2) Verne has 358 posts
3) Marci 315
4) Joe 305
5) Tom 277

It appears that this is not an open forum....really, it is a few people posting a majority of the time with their opinions....ever strenthening eachother.

Golden,

Your logic is impeccable and backed up by irrefutable evidence!

Your intelligence in deciphering this is now on display for all to see.

Yes Scott, this board is as unbalanced as CNN and the New York Times.  In the true essence of this board, you immediately stoop to bashing a poster who doesn't agree with most of what is posted.

Actual posting numbers are:

Niaga Daerter 368

Golden,

Actually, I was bashing the logic you used to come to your conclusion.

What gets old is some anonymous poster jumping on, making some goofy statement about how wretched this board is, not backing it up with any type of logical or scriptural argument and then crying when his ridiculous statements get "bashed."

You're complaining about being bashed when all you have to contribute is bashing the board.

1) There have been several people who do not agree with much of what is posted here and who have had the courage to sign on, present their arguments, debate and agree to disagree.

2) This is obviously an open forum since you're posting on it. It is NOT an unbiased forum and never pretended to be. So why are you crying about it? If you don't like it, don't read it. If you want to dispute what is written, dispute it.

Post something that makes sense and sign your name.

Scott McCumber

Golden,

The stats indicate that you have posted 11 times since Aug 6th. You have a lot of catching up to do. Hopefully you will use your posts to dialogue rather than post jabs and stats.

My post count has just increased by 1.

You are absolutely correct, golden.

When I look at the posts here, the vast majority are from people who are/were involved in the Assembly.  We have a handful of "outsiders," and very few, if any, Eskimos, Laplanders, Pawnee Indians, or Pitcairn Islanders.

How do you propose we get more balance?

Also, I subscribe to two sailing magazines.  The magazine did a survey of the readership and they found that 83% of the readers of these two publications owned sailboats!  Very few owned powerboats.  That's some pretty strong bias there....

I sent them an anonymous letter taking them to task for not including articles on quilting, watch repair and Incan farming techniques.

How about a moderate extremist perhaps?  And there is nothing wrong with being an extremist when you are right. :)  If you want to follow the truth, then sticking "extremely" close to the truth would appear to be a good place to start. If you want to be faithful, then extremely faithful would be the only way to go, anything less is well, just not faithful.  I for one appreciate you my "extremely" faithful brother.

You are amazingly intelligent.  Did you figure out that about a dozen people are regular posters on this site all by yourself?

Amazing!  Who did you think would respond?

On a serious note, what's wrong with bias?  Declared, unapologetic bias is perfectly fine.  What I don't like is a hidden agenda, where the reporting of fact is twisted into the reporting of fiction as fact.

We are unashamedly biased on this forum, and anyone who can't figure that out quickly has no right to own a computer and no intellectual claim to any opinion whatsoever.

Again, this BB is biased against George Geftakys and his Assemblies.  We also show strong favortism towards Evangelical Christianity, and are generally negative in our assessment of Eastern Mysticism, New Age Philosophy and "cults."

Many of us were part of Geftaky's Assemblies, so we understand eachother, and recognize that few people understand what we are talking about, so we find it valuable to speak to one another.  In doing so, we are biased in what we say, think and understand, due to the fact that our backgrounds were largely shaped by this Geftakys character, the Bible, and perhaps some other things as well.

Yep, plenty of bias, but also honesty.  There is another website that is really looking for the "silent" majority that has been run off by our blatant bias.  Have you considered posting elsewhere, in addition to what you say here?

One more thing, I am biased against anonymous posters who say stuff like you do.  I can't help it, my bias just leads me to think that you are somewhat of a coward and that you find it hard to share ideas unless you can control the environment.  Maybe it's not true, it could just be my biased thinking that leads me to believe this, however, since I am out in the open about it, people shouldn't be overly influenced.

I am an extremely biased person, as noted above.  I like it that way.  Other people are also biased, whether they admit it or not.

Brent

Oh holy hell. How did I wind up number 9 on a top ten list?? And they say I have posted 305 times too. I always wind up on some stupid list. People like golden are so blessed because they only post a few times, and then they can come back later and lay into people like me for posting more.

Oh horse manure!!!! Now it's 306. If I could have just held back for a while. Just for a stinking day or two, I'd be number 11 and wouldn't have to face the horrible derision faced by people on a list of the top 10 posters. Number 9!!! Number 9!!!! God curse the day I discovered bulletin boards and got hooked on voicing my opinions. Oh dear God how can I live now after golden has exposed and derided me for my horrible posting weakness?? Give me the strength to become number 11 or below!!! I can't even look myself in the mirror!!! In the name of all that is sacred help me PLEASE!!!!!!

golden, you are even smarter today than yesterday!

How did you figure out that the top ten produced 40% of the posts?  I don't even know what to think.  Did you need a calculator?

What are we to think of all this?  Is it because the top ten post more than others, or is it because the bottom 90 post less?

I feel like the wind has been taken out of my sails.  What does all this mean?  Am I posting more than everyone else, or are they just posting less than me?

Should I hide the stats, so I can't be shown to be the number one poster?

I am so embarrassed!  :-[

So I wonder what golden deduces from these stats?  What about the remaining 399 users, perhaps they all disagree with the top 10 posters? It must be true! Perhaps they actually like carob and don't drink their coffee with the same orifice as the top 10?  Oh, this is all so confusing.  Perhaps golden is in "Bizarro World" and expects that the bottom 10 posters of the 409 should be posting 40% of the posts.  I am so confused.  Why don't I understand?

I must inform you that you are a Carnal Poster! All of the posters who are above you have been informed and they are talking amongst themselves.   You have taken a wrong turn away from the path of Over Poster!

You can get back on the proper path very easily.  First, you will need to reboot your computer immediately!   And while you're at it, why don't you wipe off that filthy screen, put some of those disks away and throw away all of your PC manuals.   We'll be meeting with you...did I say we, I mean "just" Brent,  will be meeting with you shortly to give you good posting advice and "encouragement."

Let me take a moment now to "encourage" you.   Now, Joe, don't blame this on your keyboard.   There is nothing wrong with your keyboard.   You are only missing  the X and F key.   I knew a poster once, a dear BBS brother, who only had one vowel on his keyboard.  He once wrote to me and told me that "he preys fer me eften!"   One day you may receive a wireless one like all of the over posters!

I'd tell you not to post for awhile but I'm afraid that I'd be punishing others and myself.

God Bless ya,    Tony Edwards

If you think this is unusual in any way, I would just guess that you haven't spent much time on other BBs, newsgroups, or mailing lists.  All lists are dominated by a smaller number of people talking.

Put 100 people in a room and try to have a discussion on a topic.  Again, a small number of people will do most of the talking.

It has nothing to do with the topic, bias or anything, it is just human dynamics.

Your list of top posters is interesting, but has nothing to do with bias or any such thing.  If these people didn't post, there would be very little traffic at all on the list.

: Re:Can we see some stats brian?
: golden November 07, 2003, 11:25:08 PM
That is what the stat's say. Very few people doing a majority of the talking. Not one of them disagrees with the other.

As to your last sentence,  "If these people didn't post, there would be very little traffic at all on the list."

Good observation!.

Golden,

I guess everyone's question is, "What's your point?"

You're stating the obvious. This is a biased bb. It is anti-GeftakysAssemblyism.

So what?

Dissenting opinions are welcome. If they are reasonably well-thought out and proffered by people with the courage of their convictions as evidenced by their willingness to sign their names, then they will be politely debated and discussed.

If they are slapped on by some gutless anonymous poster with little regard for logic, evidence, etc. then those opinions will probably be subject to ridicule and vitriol by otherwise nice guys like me! ;D

Don't like it? Take a hike, Mike.

: Re:Can we see some stats brian?

Golden,

Perhaps a little story could help you grasp the concept.

I’m an Illini fan. I visit a lot of Illini websites. The other day an important recruit chose Duke over Illinois. I went to the Duke website.

Amazingly, it was populated by people who were almost all pro-Duke! They were saying all kinds of mean things about the Illini! I was offended. Hurt.

There was one guy, though. IlliniBill. He came on and said the Dukies were a bunch of jerks. I couldn’t believe what happened next. All the Duke posters attacked him! Can you believe the nerve? I was sickened. Poor IlliniBill. I stood up for him. Anonymously of course. It’s scary in there. Those big bullies attacked me next!

Finally, I’d had enough. I got out of there as quickly as I possible could. Whew! Who knew when I went onto that Duke site that all those Dukies would be so . . . so . . . PRO-DUKE! It’s madness.

Guess I’ll stay on the Illini board from now on. If any anonymous Dukies ever visited our site posting anti-Illini sentiments, you can bet they’d be treated as treasured guests!

Figure it out.

Boy Scott, you had me feeling really bad for IlliniBill....I'm glad it was only an illustration

That is what the stat's say. Very few people doing a majority of the talking. Not one of them disagrees with the other.

As to your last sentence,  "If these people didn't post, there would be very little traffic at all on the list."

Good observation!.

There is more to traffic than posts I assure you my yellow..er golden friend... ;)

Nor of twelve, but ten alone, seeing that they posteth often, of ten shall they be and no more, for ten shall be the number. But the one who posteth not, or posteth less, of this number shall they not be, seeing that they posteth less than the number of the ten who posteth more. And thus shall it ever be. Let him who posteth, posteth well, and it shall come to pass that if thou shalt be of the ten it shall be well with you, or of the fewer too, it shall be well with thee. The way this thing works is that the top 10 do all the talking, and lots of other people listen to what we have to say.

There is far more traffic on the BB than just us, only that the others prefer to read and remain silent.

golden, you should go after the silent non-posters.  It's their fault.

To whom it may concern:

The "Top Ten Posters Awards Dinner" has been moved
from Monday, December 1st to Thursday Dec. 4th.
Please RSVP soon and be sure to note whether you would like the Lobster Rockefeller or the Filet Mignon.
Remember, the top poster will receive a brand new 2004 Jaguar convertible. Right now Brent Tr0ckman appears to have a solid lead, but you never know what can happen in a few short weeks. But who's keeping statistics?

2004 Jaguar?! I need to talk to Jesus Freak/Lucas. I remember last winter he wrote a killer scrip that posted about 300X in one night!

Oh, wait. Tr0ckman banned that stuff from the board. Dang. I'll have to think of something else! :)

First of all, I want to say that I would have been in the top ten if I had actually posted everything that I wanted to  ;D

I've been away from the computer for a couple of days so just read this stats thread. Servers would crash if we all said everything we'd like to say. I think it's God's mercy that many of us have said as little as we have.
I see I'm an above average poster. Or is that too introspective of me to notice?
This discussion almost made me laugh as much as Joe S's cult recipe collection.

Happy weekend, everyone.  All 400 and however many of you there were/are.   ;)

golden,

Ever wondered what the average number in a telephone book is?

Statistics is an interesting and important subject because it tells stories about the subjects that are analyzed.  Unfortunately, it can be used to make weak arguements appear strong, or make somebody who's telling the truth appear as a liar.  For me, I use it as a tool for constructive purposes.  As a structural engineer, I use it all the time to help make decisions that require consideration of multitudes of parameters to reach the most optimal solution, like a mechanic using a torque wrench to take the guess work out of how much to twist the fasteners.

One time I was involved in a court case where a very expensive building was improperly designed.  Excessive cracking and sagging in the concrete structure where commonplace, and tenants were unable to open doors, a real mess.  My job as a forensic specialist was to determine exactly why the building was a problem, so I went about analysing the structure and indicate for the trial where all the excessive stresses were located and what were the options for repair.  Pretty simple case, as I thought, until the defendant's expert witness started to blab off a bunch of statistics that had nothing to do with the problem at hand.  He was saying how the building is "unlikely" to collapse in the event of an earthquake, and ignoring all the engineering work that proved otherwise.  Fortunately, the judge saw through the bs statistics and had them removed from the evidence pile.

Your point regarding the top ten posters and the magnitude of their contributions reminds me of the attorney that helped defend the developers of a dangerous building.  They don't show the whole picture.  Looking at the numbers, it appears that there are a lot of people who contribute a lot to this bb.  94 people have contributed at lease 10 posts.  Out of the 200 people who have contributed anything at all, it's a significant number.  As a forum where all former, current, and never-were members of the geftakys cult (gc) can sort of gather and say something, it is quite a larger number than the amount of people that were premitted to contribute something during a seminar.  I attended 8 seminars and only two people were on stage:  GG, and somebody else that taught us how to sing an obscure hymn one time.

Overall, you're statistical diatribe irrelevant and puts me to sleep.  I don't really care what your name is, but I would be interested in hearing about your assembly experience if you would be interested in telling it.

There, I feel better now. I have just upped my posts from 2 to 6 in less than 5 minutes. Wait, make that 7 posts including this one. I am on a roll now....

Having taken the job as representative of the silent majority, I can attest that yes, we are the problem. Has anyone noticed how many times these posts get read?? Yep, we are the ones who read them. In fact, I've been beastly enough to email people in the top ten and tell them "write on!!!". So, please, blame me. I am good at taking the blame for everything anyways. My husband and kids (yep, I call them kids quite often now without guilt that they will have an identity crises over whether they are children or goats) have found it quite handy. However, I'm getting a voice, developing boundaries, and generally getting feistier, so watch out all you post bashers. The silent majority is watching!  :D ;D

Total posts 10204

Total clicks divided by total posts=92 clicks per post

That means that the top 40 % of posters are so stupd they need to click on the post button 92 times, every time they post!

No one reads these posts, no one else talks, just us....so each of you must click more than you post!!

More clicks than posts?  This website is history.  You can't believe anything on this BB, there are 92 clicks per post!

Wouldn't it be funny, if after all of this, it was found out that Verne didn't post all of his posts, but that he plagiarized from another BB?  I mean, he doesn't really know all of those big words, he is probably copying a real poster, from another website.

What if it turned out that I was a fraud, and that I never did all the things I claimed, like I never really wrote all these posts, I had my followers write them and I just signed my name to them?  That would be bad.

What if, after all this, it turns out that we never actually left the Assembly, but were really current members, and this was all a farce!  Hah!

Seriously, how many of you would leave the BB if the above was found out to be true?

You must have plagiarized it, because I found that it was used elsewhere, BEFORE you used it here.  For a person who reads his own posts at least 92 times (that's what golden's stats say)  there IS NO WAY you know what a word like that means.

Why should I stop at number four?  Why shouldn't I aim for the very top - number two!  I want to be number 2.  No one can be higher than that! I don't believe in any higher place than 2, so therefore no higher place exists. Anyone who alleges to be higher than 2 must be a fraud, and should be considered to be ineligible and ignored.  So, what is the prize for number two?

Before I saw Brents' response to Golden, I was going to bring up the issue of how many "clicks" there were.  There are "on average" MORE THAN 1,000 clicks PER DAY on this BB.  Some days, there are more than 2,000!!!!

Your point Golden?  Like, as if the people who are doing the talking are the only ones interested in the BB?  I think you better challenge your premise.

And besides, who cares?  The people who are interested are here, if you don't want to be here..............leave!  It's as simple as that.  I don't get you.  I signed on to the "Soaring with Sneagles" (pun intended) website and ceased to do so when it irritated the ............out of me.  I don't go there anymore.  Why are you still here if you don't like it?  The people who are here talking are doing so for our own health and welfare.  (I'm sorry if I'm talking for the collective "community", forgive me for those few who don't agree with my sentiment, I'm sure there are some.)  Interestingly, we are even quite up front about our identities.  What makes you so quesy about revealing your true identity?  Certainly, anyone can come here anonymously, but it is interesting for those who choose to do so with your bent.

My 2 cents!  And boy, am I'm mad that I'm no longer in the top 10 posters.  I held the position for so long.........it's not fair............whine........Hey........but I have a life now!  I don't have time to post, post, post anymore.  Oh well, everyone has to take the humble, lowly position sometime (except Brent and Verne........who seem to have inordinate amounts of time ( ;)I got a big word in there Verne!) to post, post, post ad nauseum.

UHHHH........I should have broken this up into numerous posts, thus climbing the posting ladder to resume my title of "top ten poster".  Oh well, another day! ;D

Brent---

What you asked below really got to me(about "what would you do if you found out the people here had never  really left  the Assembly?") and it's time to come clean. My name is not Joe Sperling, and I have never been a member of the Assembly. My name is really Burt O'Leary. I'm a reporter for 20/20 news magazine on KABC channel 7 television. We have been doing an undercover report on Cults and their victims. During this investigation I have learned quite a lot, and come up with some pretty good food recipes in the process too. (the recipe for Krishna Crab cakes is out of this world!!).

Part of the expose' has do with "recovery" and how people deal with coming out of these "cults". One way, we have found, that some people deal with these things is to become part of a Bulletin Board. A select few of these people then become what we have come to call "frantic posters". I, myself, have masqueraded as a "frantic poster" for several months now, to see how it would feel to be one.

I had dinner with Barbara Walters just the other night, and it was my first break away from a computer screen in months. She asked how I could continue to live as a "frantic poster" and how miserable my life must be at this point to continue to be one. I couldn't quite believe my own voice as I replied "I'm number 9 on the list now, if I could just post a bit more I might make it to number one".

I knew then that it was time that I begin to wrap-up my long and tedious undercover surveillance job, and begin to put together the television "spot" for 20/20 soon. I do have to say it's been a pleasure getting to know all of you, and to have listened to your impassioned posts which have dealt with everything from the age of the earth, to "bringing up children" in a cult atmosphere. I promise my report will be an honest one, and I will not make anyone here look any nuttier than you already are.

Thanks for bearing with me all of this time.

It continues to amaze me.  The fake posters can get more posts flowing than anyone else.  Look at the posts.  Golden isn't saying ANYTHING, and you guys are goin' CRAZY with posts.

BTW, I have declared that it is not numbers of posts that will win, but quality of posts.  No, Brent, you can't win by declaring that yourself.  Others must vote you in.  So....I hereby call for a recall vote for top ten posters, and change the venue to quality of posts.

Burt, it might interest you that there are several celebrities who regularly post on here.  I have the inside scoop on this.  I could give hints later on....maybe.

Andrea

Andrea,

Don't you understand?  We have a problem.  We go crazy when anonymous posters show up because we are essentially imbalanced, hyper-sensitive victims.

Now that's a quality post!  I can see the Torch and Testimony headlines now,

"Our problem is that we are hypersensitive victims."  Brent Tr0ckman's own words on why he wants to see George re-instated.  Apparently saying "sorry" isn't enough, Brent really wants to repent, but the problem remains that so many people believed the accounts on the website.

"Everything I said was false, even the stuff that was true," said Brent with a glazed over, far away look in his eye.  "I just wish I could turn the clock back to when I was in the brothers' house.  Everything was so organized and I knew just who I was and what I was supposed to do.  But now, I let self get in the way, and the whole testimony went up in flames!"

There are liars, damn liars, and statisticians.

On a serious note:

Some of the top ten posters are the ones I personally want to 'hear'(read) from. So I am glad that you keep posting. I also enjoy the 'critical thoughts' of others who are not listed in the top ten.

Also, golden gives the BB an opportunity for some 'fun' posting. It is then that I choose to remain in 'guest' mode and enjoy the dialog back and forth between those who respond to golden and his stats.

Brent, it's all your fault. If you hadn't started the website and the BB we'd all be sophisticated assemblyites. :)

It's the golden rule:

Whenst thou posteth a single post, the stats indicateths that thy post count increaseth by 1.

Moral of the story:
Keep posting.

Marcia

So what you are saying is that when Verne posteth, his post count increases.  So it must be his fault, that I am falling behind him, and I am just sitting here still not knowing how to remedy this situation.  I am sure that if I was back in 4th, that I would then have to wisdom to figure this out, and get that dog for my submarine.  But alas, I am at number 5 and remain confused, still trying to get to number 2.  Rememer there is no higher position than number 2.  Or is there even a number 2?  I don't know - I am so confused.

Retread,

Think of the silent majority. They're watching. The top ten is down to 76% posting, we must get it back up to 95% at least. The secret is to 'choose' to posteth and posteth and posteth again. Don't be distracted by Verne. He boasteth that he posteth, but the mostest are his PMs not his posts. Joe might even send you Verne's sub-woofer. It will all be worth it then. Think of the reward of getting the sub-woofer and Verne's at that.

Remember the golden rule.

OK, I'll own up to it.

golden is me. (not really, i have no idea who he is, but I like him!) I am posting these stats in order to prove that I post more than you all:

"I thank God that I post more than you all, yet I would rather post three words with understanding, than be leading poster in a foreign BB."  Barnabus 2:27

I am the leading poster.  All contributions are for the work of the leading poster, both here and abroad.  There is a box on the back table for that purpose, and part of our worship (of the leading posters) is our offering to the leading poster.

Cash only, I'm not an organization, I'm an organism.   I can take care of my own money, and part of your money is my money, so don't worry about it, I can take care of what's mine, you worry about taking care of what's yours.

Speaking of stats, did you know that the vast majority of people in the world speak only 3 languages, when there are actually hundreds of languages, and thousands of dialects?  If that doesn't show this bulletin board to be a twisted place, I don't know what will.

golden, statistically, there are 3 kinds of sailors: those who are aground, those who are about to go aground, and the damn fools who lie about it.

Also, did you know that there are 3 kinds of people in the world?  This explains why there are 12 people who post more than the others....

Yep, 3 kinds of people, those who can count, and those who can't.

golden is one of the number two kind.....

One thing that no one has mentioned during all this talk about stats---speaking of which, "Brian, can we get some stats?"---is how golden got the stats.  Brian didn't give them to him, where did he get them?  How did he know to use the stats link on the index page?  Do the brothers know about this?  What does brother George have to say about this?

I think we should bring this up at the Posters' meeting next Saturday.

Brent---just the top poster among lesser posters....upon my knees with an open webpage....fresh typed in the spareroom of Calle Sereno.....

Precious promises.......

Brent

Now that you've given all those stats Brent, it would be interesting to see some assembly stats (we would have to change the subject line to do that :)).

How many assemblies collapsed after GG's excomm..?
How many hours/days/months after his excomm..?
Why did they collapse?
How many dwindled down to 1/2/3/4 etc people?
How many LBs stepped down and why?
How many have truly repented?
How much money did GG make?
etc. etc. etc....

Those would be very interesting stats.

How much money did GG make?

Answer: none.  He didn't make any.  He took some money, but no one knows how much.

The other stats make me weary, too boring.  I like stats that have my name at the top, unless they are negative.  If anything negative is said about me, I'll delete it and the person who posts it.  The testimony of this BB is one of moderation and courtesy.

Hi all,

"Golden" obviously doesn't care for the general tone of posts on this board.  The posting of stats seems to be motiviated by a desire to criticize those who post here.

If someone who identifies themselves by no more than an adjective were calling up your house to to make statements like " This is Greenish, you have made 342 phone calls", what would you think?

I for one, would figure I was being harrassed by someone that had some personal problems that needed adjustment.

So, my question to the "top 10" and others who post here is, Why do you participate in this nonsense?

God bless,

Thomas Maddux

Brent----

Will any of the "leading posters" be responsible for a "posters house" in the future? And by the way, when is the next "leading posters" meeting?

Being a "leading poster", should I allow anyone to "back talk" to me? Or should I report it to someone with more posts than I have?

If one of the "leading posters" decides to "step down" will someone take their place, or will there only be a "top 9" from then on?

Does being a "leading poster" allow me to live off of the Bulletin Board, or should I keep my job?

Sorry for all of the questions, but i'm just not sure how the BB govenmental system works. I hope I don;t get fined for asking so many questions.

Joe, who said anything about you being a leading poster?  You are number 9, and there are only 10 of us.  We can't all be leaders now, can we?  Who would I lead if you were a leader?

You are more of a "dear," poster, but definitely not a leading poster.  However, perhaps if you posted more you could be a leading poster.

Think of the BB like an Existing Assembly:  There are a dozen people attending, and of these dozen, the twelve of them do all the talking, but only 3 of them are in the top three....

Well, I am in the top 3, and you are not, so you must be encouraged by me, not the other way 'round, see?  Brother, just keep posting and trust the GM.

Brent---a poster among posters, at the top of the statistical heap, due solely to my choices and actions.  I earned these stats, and I am humble about it, because I could not have done it without the GM's help.

I humbly accept your godly counsel. Forgive me for speaking out of turn. It's all my ego and a desire for prominence among the other posters. I "make long posts to be seen of men". I am like a whitened sepulchre---a hypocritical poster.

I'm going to go clean the bathroom 3 times in a row and meditate deeply upon these things.

thank you Brent.    --a "regular" poster

In my own hoping-to-be-ever-so-humble opinion Tom, the minute you start taking yourself more seriously than others do...you are in big trouble. This is all in good fun obviously...lighten up my man... :)

In case anyone is interested, My pet hamster "fat larry" made 213 revolutions on his exercise wheel last night.
Monday: 213 revolutions
Sunday: 211 revolutions
Saturday: 209 revolutions
Friday: no revolutions. "fat Larry" is a Jewish hamster and observes the Sabbath starting at Sundown.
Thursday: 216 revolutions
Wednesday: 199 revolutions
Tuesday: 209 revolutions.

I don't know my math too well. Using the forementioned statistics, what was the average number of revolutions "Fat Larry" made on his exercise wheel during the week? (Where's Stephen Fortescue when you need him? Math whiz that he is).

Joe,

I think that perhaps you are not telling the truth here.  I'm sure you really do have a hamster, and that you really have counted the revolutions on the wheel.  I'm not accusing you of that, brother.

But there is no way Fat Larry can be a Jewish Hamster.  Hamsters are unclean, and therefore can't be Jewish.  You know it, I know it, and I daresay Fat Larry knows it.

This is why you are not ready to be a leading poster.  Good use of statistics though.  I noticed something, however.  Is Fat Larry responsible for all of those revolutions, or did your other hamster, Golda take a few spins?  The reason I ask is that it seems kind of one sided.

Brent

Are you kdding? Golda do revolutions? She's either out shopping all the time, or doing her nails. As for Fat Larry, you may say he's unclean, but try taking that yamulke off of his head--he'll bite your finger and draw blood for sure. Believe me. I know.

Dear Joe,

Sorry to break the news to you, but your hamster is a wimp.  My "Harvey the Wonder Hamster" can run circles around your pathetic Fat Larry.  Pathetic hamsters such as Fat Larry have no place on this bb, they will never be overcomers and should be shunned. Such a hamster can only bring down other hamsters with him.  For the sake of Golda,  I suggest that you eschew all contact with Fat Boy Larry, and start keeping company with real macho hamsters such as Harvey.  The stats don't lie, Larry is a wimp.  Harvey is still laughing over Larry's pathetic stats.  These may seem like harsh words, but they need to be said.

In the words of Wierd Al:

Oh, Harvey, Harvey
Harvey the Wonder Hamster
He doesn't bite and he doesn't squeal
He just runs around on his hamster wheel
Harvey, Harvey
Harvey the Wonder Hamster
Hey, Harvey!

So Larry Boy, when is someone going to write a song about you?

So Larry Boy, why don't you stand up and defend yourself, what are you a hamster or a mouse?

You are showing signs of independent thought.  This is not good.  We are all in this together, and as soon as one of us starts thinking we know something, well, we know nothing as we ought.  Capice?

Just admit it, your hamster is gentile.  Quit trying to make a name for yourself, and carve out your own place on the BB.  Just be content to be a poster, just a regular poster....Amen??  Just because your stats aren't as high as some other brothers doesn't mean you don't have a role to play...amen??  You aren't as important, but you are still relatively important.  Be a support Joe.  Be content just to be a poster.  You will be raised up in due time.  (Maybe someone will delete their account and you will automatically go up a notch)

--Joe

He says that the proof is in the stats. I have no reason to doubt Harvey, but just to be sure, I think that I will put Harvey under video surveillance tonight to see what the truth really is.  I have no doubt that Harvey will be vindicated of these frivolous accusations that have been made against him.

the really sad thing here is that of the three hamsters, two of them are responsible for 99% of the wheel revolutions.  Isn't that just like this BB?

Larry is a kangaroo rat, not a hamster.  You can't have a Jewish hamster.  As for Harvey, how can you trust a hamster who spins the wheel with his hands and doesn't run on it?  That isn't right.

Come one golden, you KNOW you want to join in with the fun here.....it OK, go ahead.  Do you have a hamster?  A gerbil perhaps?

Statistically speaking most people live less than 80 years.  That means that of all the people over 100, most of them were less than 80, more than twenty years ago.

This means that virtually no one lives to be over one hundred years old, unless they live twenty years past eighty.  I wonder how many posts they'll have by then?

Oh, and congratulations on being eleventh Al.  You earned it.

Thanks, Brent.  Your stats, quoted above, have answered several questions that have troubled me for years, but have raised others.  For example, does it always take 20 years for an 80 year old person to become 100?  Every time someone becomes 81, does a 79 year old kick the bucket?  And if so, how long will that bucket last?  How many kicks can it take?  Possibly quite a few, as septagenarians don't kick very hard, statistically.

Do hamsters ever reach 80?  Gerbils?  Kangaroo rats?  Would 80 one-year-old rodents count?  How?  On their toes, or would they need abaci?  (abacuses?)

i don't really care about this stuff, but i gotta post if i hope to ever get back into the top ten!

Some of us have invited golden to discuss other topics with us, but golden is just ignoring our invitations. Bob Smith did the same to me. This is the same treatment I received when I attempted on a number of occasions to initiate conversation with various individuals here locally. I received the silent treatment. So I took my discussion to the BB. This golden guy is good. What self-control to stick to his agenda. What purpose to post his stats report. What determination and stick-atedness. What!? Of course some assembly clones are still struggling with the changed terms of engagement. Back in the old days, the sheer weight of the institution conspired to brutally silence even a hint of dissent. This is what is truly so amazing about what Brent did.
On a forum like this, those who were accustomed to bullying others to their point of view have no idea what to do in an environment where there are others fully capable and more than  willing to fire right back. Interesting no? Ergo the only viable strategy is a furtive presence, staying safely and anonymously out of harm's way...slinking, as it were. Of course when the heat gets to be a bit too much you have the option of starting your own BB and seeing if any one comes. People like Golden are great for a laugh or two, not worth loosing any sleep over...don't begrudge what ever meagre satisfaction is being derived from this obviously mindless excercise...just keep smiling!  :)

After Fat Larry's "operation" he was dubbed "Fat Larry Hamsterstein". It may sound blatantly stereotypical, but it's what Fat Larry wanted.

For more information on the statistical break-down of "hamster belief" please go to:

www.hamsterreligiouspreferences.com

There are some very interesting statistics on this site:
including the fact that the overwhelmingly favoite song preferred by  hamsters is "Wheel in the Sky" by Journey at a whopping 89%.

Jewish----56%
Christian- 29%
Muslim-----3%(including a small group of Al Qaeda Pet store terrorists)
Buddhist---1%
Hindu-------2%
Mormon---- 1%(believe the Garden of Eden was once located where "Bert's Pets & Things" now resides)
Jehovah's Witnesses---3%
other-----5%(includes some gerbil atheists, and a very small group of hamster "new agers").

I was surprised so many hamsters were Jewish.

Well Joe, the good news is that after reviewing the surveillance tape it is clear that Harvey is not spinning the wheel with his paw while laying on his back.  However, I do have some unfortunate news to report.  You better sit down for this Joe.  The tape shows that Golda has been sneaking over to see Harvey at night, and spinning his wheel for him!  This also could help explain why Golda is not spinning her own wheel as she gets all of the spinning she needs from Harvey's.  Needless to say I was shocked, but do accept Harvey's defense that as long as the wheel is spun it doesn't matter how it is spun or who spins it.  But I will still ask you to please ensure that Golda's cage is locked securely at night, as it would probably still be better for Harvey to be the one who is doing the spinning.  Other than this, the rest of the tape was fairly uneventful, except for the fact that I was surprised that hamsters can dance the macarena.

p.s. Golden - now aren't you glad that you started this thread?  :)  BTW, do you have any stats on how many hamsters can dance the macarena?  I think that little Harvey may be a very special hamster!

If this comes as surprising news to you, I am sure that its only because you live in a different reality than Bob.  There is no talking with these people, it just doesn't work and ends up in total frustration.  What planet are these folks from anyway?  Perhaps some professional help would bring them back to earth, I just don't know.

???

Yeah! I think that Bob Smith was replying to my comment about him earlier in my reply to golden.
Here's a man who has to lean on the credentials of others' in order to 'convince' us that he has something valid to say. He mentioned his connections with Mr. Miller. He mentioned my husband's love for the Lord (which I do not dispute). He gave himself away, however when he mentioned Sondra's spirituality. This guy is bitter and angry at Tr0ckman's BB posters. It's been almost a year now and he has not yet gotten over it. He is not praying and trusting the Lord for us poor 'wounded pilgrims'. :)

For the record: I have not left my family. And I think that Bob Smith is just jealous that I did not follow him blindly. Brent and Verne know that I opposed them on many occasions in my annonymous days when I was 'protecting the assembly' and figuring things out for myself. I wonder what Bob Smith's reason is for remaining annonymous. I do not have a problem with posters remaining annonymous as I trust that most have a good reason for doing so.

I also want to state that, for the most part, I agree with Brent's and Verne's perspective on assembly matters. I may not always agree with their tone of presentation, but I have come to realize that sometimes a 'strong' tone helps to break through the fog of deception.

Lord bless,
Marcia

P.S. I just want to add I find Bob's reaction hilariously funny.
Remember the saying: If you throw a rock down a dark alley and you hear a scream, then you know you've hit something.

This gentleman is even more perverse than I surmised at first blush. How strange it is that the very people who wax eloquent about bitterness and lack of forgiveness being sinful will stoop to the most obscene of characterizations in their own assessment of others. This kind of vile bilge is just what I would expect from Bob Smith and other tranparent frauds of his ilk.  Marcia don't even let this idiot's shadow darken the light of God's grace in your thinking...

Although I am not a professional in these matters, I think that it may be possible that Bob's problem has to do with leaning towards one of the following:

nuts
insane
loony
deranged
idiot
crackers
bananas
daft
mentally incompetent
lunatic
touched
unbalanced
irrational
unhinged
bonkers
loco
whacko
cuckoo
bedlamite

Perhaps someone with some appropriate professional experience could help narrow this down further.

But in all seriousness someone like Bob does need some serious help!

For more information on the statistical break-down of "hamster belief" please go to:

www.hamsterreligiouspreferences.com

Folks, DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT visit the www.hamsterreligiouspreferences.com site.  i checked it out, and under the diguise of presenting harmless statistics, it is designed to recruit converts to blatant Hamsterism.  The site is owned and operated by hamsters who believe that their species is the only true species and that members of all other species are destined to die unaccepted and be flushed down the toilet.

Hamsterism may look cute to the casual observer, but beneath that furry front lies an ambitiousness seldom equalled for its cunning.  Beware the exercise wheel!  Beware the macarena (especially if the singer has a voice like Alvin the chipmunk)!  These are the ways of deception!

Are we to believe that it is merely coincidence that the most popular hamster is the "Golden" hamster?  C'mon, Golden:  out yourself...  What species are you, really?

I just don't know how I'm going to break this news to Fat Larry. As Larry would put it, if he knew: "Golda's been sharing the water bottle with someone else".

Fat Larry may just freak out. He does have friends in the Al Qaeda Hamster Pet Store Terrorists Organization, so don't be surprised if a "suicide hamster" annihilates Harvey and his cage one of these nights. I know it's pretty amazing that a Jewish hamster would call on Muslim hamster terrorists, but jealousy can drive people to do very unusual and scary things. And these hamster terrorists have nothing to lose. They believe they are going to "The Big Wheel in the Sky" and will have 70 virgin hamster wives, and all of the alfalfa pellets you can eat for all of eternity. I'll try to break it to him slowly and possibly we can avoid this horrible  outcome.

Thanks for your insight Al.  Now the pieces are beginning to come together.  The Golden Hamster is also referred to as the Syrian Hamster.  And since there are some in Syria who are not to fond of Jews, then perhaps Golden is out to get Larry because he is Jewish!  This plot may be bigger than what we first realized!

Joe, please warn Fat Larry to stay away from the AQHPSTO, I suspect that they may be working with Golden, and may not have Larry's best interests at heart.  It's bad enough that Larry has to suffer over the news of Golda, but falling victim to the AQHPSTO would just be too much.

It has been brought to my attention that some possibilities have been left out of my list, but I do suspect that someone took aid in a Thesaurus for this list:

birdbrain

bonehead

dimwit

dumb bunny
dumb ox

However, again I must state that I don't have the professional experience required to make a definitive diagnosis.

Perhaps I was a little too strongly reactionary in my list of names concerning Mr. Smith.  My mistake was taking a look at the soaring bb, and the comments that Bob wrote about Marcia were just to much for me to stomach. It is just a lot healthier overall to stay away from that bb.  Perhaps I should just come up with a new name for people like Bob.  Perhaps, "they are golden" would work.

Well, either it is a real picture of Harvey, or I did a web search for "Ninja Hamster", and found: http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/ProductDetails.aspx?language=en-GB&product=NINHAM (http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/ProductDetails.aspx?language=en-GB&product=NINHAM).  Either way, Harvey wants Larry to think that it is really him.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRENT!

you young whippersnapper... ;D

Verne

Why thank you Verne!

Tomorrow, on my birthday, I plan on feeling bitter, speaking to someone about what it is like to be a perpetual victim with lots of followers, how strange it is that Satan used me to destroy God's one true church, and then go sailing!

Sounds like quite a day, and well it should!  It is my birthday.

Brent

(Of course Im kidding about everything except the sailing.  I definitely plan on sailing.)

Posts: a look back.

Brent A. Tr0ckman  792

792. That's a lot of posts. But who can forget Brent's number post # 111!!! I think all of us would have to say it ranks right up there with his post # 262. And who can forget #341!! ;D ;D ;D My, My that was a good post!! Post #582 really got us all thinking, and #665 was quite controversial. I think when we all look back we all have our favorites(I also like #334 very much also), but having memories as we all do we all will never forget number 9--it was very endearing.
Arthur    574

Who can forget Arthur's memorable #232?? I don't think any of will soon forget that post, it's impression upon us lasting as when it was first posted. And 419!!!! It hit new heights, and made us all think deeply.

Verne  409

Though Verne now has 409 posts, who can forget that memorable #102!!!!! None of us had ever seen anything like it. Then, like out of nowhere post #304 rose to even greater heights!! I think #12 all gave us a fit of the giggles, and #313 was said like only Verne can say it.

My oh my as we look back on all of the posts there are a lot of memories for sure, like Tom Maddux's #14 and Retread's #15 and #311. Mark C. got us all thinking with his post #33. And Marcia with her post #222 helped change the direction of the board. I'm sure I've forgotten
some memorable posts--perhaps you'll remember them and share.

There are so many, but it's always great to look back on all of them. Statistics are great.

Sorry Verne, but that would be a clear violation of paragraph 2, line 3 of the rules.  And if you do this you will already have your reward (and what a wondrous book collection it is).  My only suggestion to you is to quickly get to number 2.  Fortunately for you, it appears that you now have a bit of extra time as we are having difficulty putting together the complete collection due to a shortage in inventory rumored to have been caused by recent book burnings.

Which ones are missing from the collection. We might be able to send the missing ones SOON.

Marcia

Just give Verne the books already!  If he hadn't deleted so many of his posts, he would be number two!

He does deserve to have more than one copy of each book. We still have a stash of some of them as my husband does the booktable. Good thing we haven't burnt them yet. Verne email me your mailing address. :)

Isaiah 29
20   For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:
21   That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.
22   Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.
23   But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.
24   They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.

Actually. this aberrant behaviour is designed to annoy Brian into warning goldie to either observe the same modicum of reasonableness as others or else have his account summarily suspended. This of course will enable goldie to go crying to his/her mommy about how unfair and biased the BB community is...i.e. it does not allow him to behave in a way that no one else does. I wondered how long it would take...remember Matt?     ;D

Isaiah 29:18-21
And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.  The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.  For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off: That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.

Jesus quotes Isaiah 29:13, which is only a few verses earlier and is in the context of golden's quote showing that it is talking about the Pharisees.

Matthew 15:7-14
Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.  But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.  And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.  Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?  But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.  Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind.  And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

In Acts 23, did the Lord express disapproval of the way Paul accidentally used strong language against the high priest?

Acts 23:1-5
And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.  And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.  Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?  And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God's high priest?  Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

Acts 23:11
And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

This sure doesn't look like disapproval from the Lord, and Paul certainly knew, at least, that he was addressing leaders of the Jews.

golden: if you want to be a part of this community you will need to contribute more than potshots. the folks here have been handling this silliness very goodnaturedly (nods to joe and others) which is cool, but its gone on long enough. you have demonstrated repeatedly that you want to disrupt this community and that you have a very limited understanding about how bulletin boards work. if that is all you have to contribute, then you should go away. if you continue posting in this manner, i will suspend your account.

just to contribute my own little statistic, over a hundred people actually log into their account every month, and its not always the same >100. besides that, we have far more guests than registered visitors. people are very interested in what is being said here, and its clear this board is still serving a useful purpose. it is not yet the time or place for most people to connect and share publicly, because most people are not ready for that, but that dosen't mean this board is not helping people connect. private messages, email, phone calls...

and don't forget that 63% of statistics are made up on the spot.

I just wanted to say that I think it is wonderful that someone has used the advice in a book I recently read called: "Quote Isaiah 29". It is a very helpful book, in that it addresses life's problems, and gives REAL answers to REAL Inquiries. Take for instance Page 29, in chapter 1.

Maggie: "Mom, I just can't seem to talk to Dad. He just doesn't seem to listen. What should I do?"
Mom: "Quote Isaiah 29 dear, he's sure to listen then".
(according to the testimonial the father did indeed listen after Isaiah 29 was quoted!!).

Or this testimonial from a man in Des Moines Iowa, who had bad credit and couldn't get a home loan:
"I went to the loan office after reading your book and walked right up to the loan officer and quoted Isaiah 29. Shortly thereafter I got the loan!!!"--Bob Brandish

Or, how about the entry in chapter 3 "Winning Arguments" :

"My wife and I always argue about who is going to do the dishes. Well, after reading your book I simply quoted Isaiah 29 and lo and behold, guess who wound up doing the dishes? Your book really works!!
--Dan kendrick, Seattle, Wa.

The book is available at any Christian book store. The author's name is Burt O'Leary. Look for "Quoting Isaiah 29" in the same section as "Quoting Isaiah 28", last years blockbuster seller.

Thanks, Joe

Hello Friends,

Burt O'Leary here, and I wanted to say that the response to my new book "Quote Isaiah 29" has been staggering to say the least. Little did I know after starting the book( I got the idea while writing my last book "Quote Isaiah 28") that it would have such a major effect upon people's lives. Listen to some of the testimonials:

"Burt---Thanks so much. I always had trouble getting a seat on the bus. People would crowd in in front of me and I always wound up standing. But then I took your advice from Chapter 2 of the book and followed your instructions, and the results were amazing!! I got that "wild-eyed look" you mentioned, and began waving my  arms and quoting Isaiah 29 loudly. I had a seat within seconds. It truly was a miracle!!!"
----Edith Salisbury, Albuquerque, NM

"It was unbelieveable!! The line at the grocery store is always so long, and I don't really have the time to wait.  I read your book and figured it was worth a shot. I began quoting Isaiah 29 loudly and pointing my fingers as you suggested in the book, and people literally moved out of the way and let me to the front within moments!! The cashier processed my order so quickly I was dumbfounded!!! Thanks Burt!!!"
---Ben Friedman, Missoula, MT.

"My children always have a problem going to bed when I want them to. I literally have to beg them. Then I read "Quote Isaiah 29" and things dramatically changed!! Around 9:00 P.M. I stand up and begin quoting Isaiah 29 in a high pitched voice with increasing volume, and believe me, the kids are in their rooms before you can say Peter Piper. Thanks again Burt."
----Peggy Freelander, Oshkosh, WI

"I like to visit Bulletin Boards and post statistics regarding that board, like who the top ten posters are and such, but after reading your book it gave me something different to post for once. Thanks Burt."
--anonymous bulletin board poster

Yes friends, more and more testimonials just like this one are received daily. Do you need something different in your life? Do you want to see people really pay attention when you have something to say? Then buy a copy of "Quote Isaiah 29" today!! I guarantee it will work for you or my name's not Burt O'Leary!!

---Burt

Dear Ben!!  ;D ;D ;D

I would also like to share a testimonial re. the benefits of allowing experts on stats and Old Test. quotations and what it has meant to me:

At first I thought it was only a juvenile attempt at attacking those on the BB (Brian called these kind of individuals "trolls"), but now I believe it is really Joe Sperling's straight man; provided as a means to give us the deep belly laughs we so desperately need from time to time!

I am here to testify that I and my lovely wife, Sindy, laughed so hard we were both brought to tears  ;D ;D.  This latest contribution of "Burt's" exceeds even his wonderful parody on, "Little Georgie And The Giant Hand", a wonderful night time story that I read to my grandchildren.

Rather than to dissuade "Golden" I think we should elevate him in the stats and give him a honorary top 10 poster spot and give him the title of, "Global Straight Man"! ;)  ;D

Thanks again "Burt" and "Golden" for making me laugh and providing me with another bed time story for the grandkids!
                                   God Bless,  Mark C.

February 2003 ------ 173674
January 2003 ----- 256731
December 2002 ----- 51999
November 2002 ------ 8930
October 2002 ---- 0

Grand total of hits:  1837364

Hits by the top ten, if they were responsible for 10 percent of the total hits=  183736.4, per year.  That means 503 hits per day by the top ten!  Do any of you click 500 times per day on this forum?  Of course, if the top ten were responsible for 90 percent of the hits it would mean 4530 clicks per day, on this forum, by the likes of Arthur, Verne, myself and others.  That's a full time job, probably more clicks than a mid-level government worker uses to fill out a welfare application!  Does anyone out there click 4530 times a day?

Also, one of the months we were only open for one day, October 31st.  And for a long period of time, guests were not allowed on the forum.....These are serious stats and demonstrate wide readership.

The stats clearly show that we have far more readers than posters,  but also that the top ten post more than the others....

I don't know why I did this, but it's kind of like end of the year accounting, totally pointless and boring, but everyone wants to see the bottom line.

I don't think they're completely boring. Stats do not tell you everything, though.  For instance, on one visit I may click just a few times: once, to see the latest ten posts, then again to print them out for Phill to read later, who may even pass them on to someone else.  That's only a few clicks for many reads.
On the next day's visit I may spend a bunch of clicks trying to find something I read a long time ago. (I know, Phill pointed out the search feature to me, too) Or, another time, I may be using any number of clicks and getting ready to even post, but the dog has to go for a walk or the oven timer goes off, etc.  Wasted clicks.
Last summer, I was printing out whole threads with just a click or two to take to the pool and read while the kids swam.
We first logged on back in Feb.
Also, what happened to the "check if you want to be notified of responses" feature?
Merry Christmas.  I'm trying to say it as much as possible these days.

I find it rather ironic that I am still included in the top ten posters.......since my last post prior to this one was almost a year ago......as a result, you might want to average down those hit counts for january and febuary as they were caused by the scripts I wrote to knock up my post count and not actual contributions to the site.

Yes, you are right.  Who can forget the last 100 of your posts that contained only the letter "B"?  The problem is that I don't know how to trim your stats, without deleting your account.

Brian may know how to do this, and he may just do it.   I do wish you would post on here more often though Lucas.

admit it, it was funny (albeit caused by a typo in my code) ::)

as for posting, I will probably stick around here until the start of the next semester

Anyway, it is easy enough to go through and "fix" everything - my post count is tallied in the SQL database used by this forum.....that value is easy enough to change and should fix anything related to "total posts" and this board.  The hits would be a bit more tricky, with the most efficient solution most likely relating to averaging out the 2 months with those within a 6 month span.  IMO, "page hits" are useless indicators of how a site is doing, unless restrictions are used such as only counting hits from any given IP at most once in a half hour (this would allow for a more accurate picture of the "visitors" to the site rather than the number of pages loaded - which is what your current number is telling you).

w/e - I am sure Brian might have a more accurate solution.......if this really is a problem worth addressing

OK, it was funny.  At the time it really tripped me out, because I recognized that you knew enough about all of this to really make trouble, had you wanted to.  I'm still kind of trippin on your calculator modifications that you mention in other threads.

We must play chess sometime!  I am going to be gone until Monday night, but let's try to hook up sometime in the next week for a game or two.

Sounds good. Whenever is good for you is truly best, as my plans are currently rather open  ;)

We must not go messing around with the stats!  Golden included your posts in his/her stats, and if they are good enough for golden, they are good enough for me.  Afterall, who are we to even think of questioning golden.  Nobody could post the stats like golden, absolutely nobody.
