: Koko the Gorilla
: Vandyyke May 01, 2008, 07:56:40 AM
I have watched a few videos of Koko the Gorilla. She is a real star with the kids. After watching this "gorilla" communicate with people, (her trainer, Mr. Rogers) I can't help but believe she possesses the same kind of "soul" as human beings! I say this because I have seen her express the full range of emotions, feelings as people. When she is happy she shows it, (see video dating) 'koko want him!" when she is being naughty you can see it in her expression, when her kitten died she cried...etc Now I will admit I ate a nice lamb cutlet tonight for dinner. Yet, if It was a "Koko cutlet" I am not sure if I wouldn't feel a little canibalistic right about now! (gorillas have 98% of the same DNA as humans) Well what do you think? Do animals share the human attribute of a soul?
